Can letting a rectocele go uncorrected cause intestinal blockage and vaginal pain during intercourse?

I have been married for 16 years, have 2 children and have had a hysterectomy, bladder sling surgery and had a cystocele corrected thinking it would solve my problem (all at the same time - so recovery was only 6 weeks). Shortly after it was diagnosed I also had a rectocele. I've been putting of the surgery, however now and then I will get very sharp pains in my lower left abdomen and feels like it goes clear down to my legs. During this time it is also very painful to have intercourse. Is this a sign of a possible blockage or just a sign that it is time to get the problem fixed?
